Job Summary

This role requires a deep understanding of MBSE concepts, methodologies, frameworks, tools, and best practices to enhance the acquisition and realization of space and defense systems encompassing systems architecture, design, analysis, and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, project

Aerospace program offices and
ETG organizations within a dynamic and innovative environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, execute, and lead MBSEand DER&D initiatives and projects, ensuring integration of systems engineering best practices.
- Provide oversight of project teams developing descriptive models using open-standard modeling languages (SysML, UAFML, BPMN) and industry-recognized tools (e.g., Cameo,SparxEA, Rhapsody).
- Guide project teams through the full system development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
- Drive innovation and best practices in MBSE, ensuring alignment with industry trends and organizational, and customer goals.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including software, hardware, and domain experts, to develop and analyze system models in the systems acquisition and realization lifecycle.
- Author, publish, and present papers, presentations, and training material on MBSE topics of mutual interest to Aerospace and customers.
- Participate in MBSEand DErelated standards organizations andprofession societyworking groups (e.g.,OMG, INCOSE,Digital Twin Consortium,AIAA, IEEE)representingAerospace interests.
- Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers on MBSE principles, practices, and tools.
What You Need to Be Successful
Minimum
- B.S. degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.), Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of experience in three or more systems engineering functional areas (e.g.requirements, architecture, design) with at least 5 years in MBSEand DE.
- Proficiencyin MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler,SparxEA, or IBM Rhapsody.
- Strong knowledge of descriptive modeling languages (e.g.,SysML, UAFML, BPMN), architecture frameworks (e.g.,DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF), and methodologies (e.g., OOSEM,SysMOD, ISE&PPOOA).
- Must be aself-starter with excellent problem-solving, communication (verbal and written), andproject portfolio andtechnical leadership skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with cross-functionalgovernment,SETA, andotherFFRDC teams.
- Ability to clearly explain projectoutcomes and deliverables tostakeholdersnot versed in MBSE.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
- Ability to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing program office sponsor and customer needs.

- This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship isrequiredto obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out

- M.S. or Ph.D. degree inarelevant engineering discipline (Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.), Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Practical systems engineering work experience in the space, defense, or nuclear security domains.
- Familiarity with agile project management using JIRA.
- Knowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) concepts, including digital engineering ecosystems, digital threads, and digital twins.
- INCOSECSEP/ESEPcertification.
- PMI PMPcertification.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
