Job Title: Principal Software Engineer
Job Description
Join an innovative team working on a new program aimed at enhancing deep space radar capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a project that provides 24/7, all-weather capabilities with higher sensitivity, better accuracy, increased capacity, and more agile tracking than current radar systems. The program also enables tracking of objects at geosynchronous earth orbit altitudes and monitoring launches to these altitudes.
Responsibilities
Design and implement software solutions for distributed radar systems using Java, C++, or Python.
Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and integrating services across multi-site radar environments.
Engage in UI/UX development to enhance system interfaces.
Apply System of System (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) design patterns.
Work with Enterprise Service Bus technologies, such as Kafka.
Conduct software requirements decomposition and system design using UML/SysML and Cameo.
Ensure the software design meets verification standards, including acceptance, testing, and functional requirements.
Essential Skills
Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's in Science, 3 years with a Master's in Science, or 1 year with a PhD for Level 3/Principal positions.
Minimum of 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's in Science, 6 years with a Master's in Science, or 4 years with a PhD for Level 4/Sr. Principal positions.
Proficiency in Java, C++, and Python.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with UI/UX development and system design using UML/SysML.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and requirements decomposition.
Experience with Enterprise Service Bus (Kafka).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Digital Signal Processing.
Experience with Radar Signal Processing.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule supporting a radar program. Employees will follow a 9/80 schedule, with remote work on alternating Fridays. The work location is conveniently situated near the COS Airport at the COCO-1 building. No base work is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
