Cimarron Software Se Network Operations Controller in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Cimarron is seeking a *Network Operations Controller *to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area or Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area.

*Key Duties: *

  • Provide 24×7 monitoring of enterprise network health, ensuring rapid detection, triage, and resolution of incidents to maintain mission-critical availability.
  • Lead incident response activities, including containment, restoration, stakeholder communication, and post-incident review.
  • Operate and optimize monitoring and observability tools, correlating telemetry to support effective escalation and service assurance.
  • Oversee change, release, and configuration management by enforcing CAB/CCB decisions, validating readiness, and ensuring accurate documentation of all changes.
  • Investigate recurring issues, conduct root cause analyses, and drive corrective actions to improve availability, resiliency, and capacity management.
  • Support boundary security operations, patching, and compliance activities within RMF/DISA STIG requirements, coordinating closely with Cyber/Blue Teams.
  • Measure and report SLAs/SLOs, maintain operational knowledge resources, and mentor junior team members to strengthen organizational readiness.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time. 
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe. 
  • Must have, or obtain within 90 days of hire, a DoD 8570 compliant certification (e.g., Security+).
  • 14 or more years of general, full-time work experience (may be reducted with advanced education). 
  • 7 or more years of network experience. 
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership position. 
  • 3 or more years of experience working in network operations/NOC for large enterprises or in a DoD environment. 
  • Solid grasp of L2/L3 fundamentals, including VLANs, HSRP/VRRP, routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, ACLs/NAT, SD WAN concepts, QoS basics, and boundary security operations.
  • Familiarity with telemetry sources such as syslog, SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, and streaming telemetry, with the ability to interpret them during incidents.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Strong incident, problem, and change management discipline (ITIL 4), with clear communications and structured decision-making under pressure.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other DoD organizations.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service operations and ticketing systems.
  • CCNA (or JNCIA), with progress toward CCNP.
  • Fortinet NSE 4+ and/or firewall gateway associate-level credential.
  • ITIL® 4 Foundation certification.
