Actalent Federal Construction Project Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large, complex federal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role carries full responsibility for schedule, budget, contracts, and profit & loss, and requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
The ideal candidate has successfully managed $30M+ federal construction projects, understands federal contracting requirements, and brings a disciplined, detail‑oriented approach to planning, buyout, execution, and closeout. Experience with USACE projects is highly preferred. This position requires limited travel—approximately once a month for about 3 days at a time.

Responsibilities:
Manage federal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
Own project budget, schedule, contract administration, and P&L
Develop and manage GMPs, including cost control and forecasting
Lead subcontractor buyout, negotiation, and contract administration
Manage change order pricing, negotiation, and execution
Oversee schedule development and updates (Primavera P6 preferred)
Coordinate closely with clients, owners, architects, and engineers
Ensure compliance with federal requirements, safety standards, and documentation
Maintain accurate WIP reporting and financial forecasting
Assess project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
Oversee project documentation, reporting, and final closeout activities
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience as a Construction Project Manager
Experience managing $30M+ federal construction projects
Strong understanding of federal compliance and documentation requirements
Willingness to travel approximately once per month (3 days at a time)
Preferred Qualifications:
USACE project experience
Primavera P6 scheduling experience

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
