Cimarron Software Se DevSecOps Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Cimarron is seeking a senior-level *DevSecOps Engineer *to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area, or the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area. 

Key Duties:

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex cloud and containerized systems that integrate with Government customer infrastructure.
  • Lead engineering, architecture, development, and administration activities across cloud and container computing environments.
  • Assess existing technology infrastructure and develop strategies for migration to cloud and containerized platforms.
  • Oversee cloud migrations and maintain environments using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Bash.
  • Provide expertise in container hardening to meet DoD and MDA compliance requirements.
  • Develop and modify scalable architectures supporting applications and infrastructure across IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Design and manage cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategic cloud initiatives.
  • Integrate security management and privacy requirements into cloud hardware, software, and application solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend optimal cloud technologies and solutions aligned with mission needs.
  • Design and implement controls and processes leveraging audit and compliance tools.
  • Integrate component subsystems into cohesive, fully functional cloud-based solutions.
  • Design and implement cloud-based integration solutions that meet Government requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule, test, improve, and maintain enterprise IT systems.
  • Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Deploy and maintain cloud-hosted databases including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MySQL.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud and integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze existing systems to identify upgrade requirements and integration opportunities.
  • Communicate with Government stakeholders to support subsystem pricing and sourcing decisions.
  • Report infrastructure capabilities, risks, and performance to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes based on cost, risk, and mission impact.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. 
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities.   • Active Secret Clearance (or higher). 
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (ex., Security+). 
  • 10 or more years of general, full-time work experience. 
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education.
  • 8 or more years of experience in system integration, with a focus on DevSecOps practices or Kubernetes. 
  • 1 or more years of experience in a management or leadership position. 
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and/or RedHat OpenShift. 
  • Experience with Coder Platform. 
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to develop and use exceptionally complex concepts and processes that span multiple organizations and disciplines.
  • Excellent problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to perform highly specialized, technical tasks associated with current and cutting-edge technologies.
