Interior Designer
Job Description
Join a specialized design team as an Interior Designer, where you will collaborate closely with sales and cross-functional partners to develop detailed construction documentation for commercial interiors. This role offers opportunities for both experienced and junior-level designers to grow, learn, and contribute to innovative environments that support efficient patient flow, particularly within eye care and ophthalmology settings.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Sales and other internal teams to develop complete and accurate construction documentation for commercial interior projects.
Produce detailed Architectural, Electrical, and Reflected Ceiling Plans that align with project requirements and internal standards.
Create comprehensive architectural sections, elevations, and details, including millwork drawings, to support fabrication and construction.
Coordinate and integrate drawings received from external architects into established AutoCAD standards, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Review contracts and returned drawings for changes and updates, and consult with clients and/or designers as needed to clarify requirements.
Develop efficient floor plans that optimize patient flow and functionality, particularly for eye care and ophthalmology environments.
Follow established Design Department standards for AutoCAD drawings to maintain quality and consistency across projects.
Collaborate effectively as part of a project team while also managing individual tasks and deadlines.
Apply strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and technical issues that arise during the documentation process.
Take on additional responsibilities and more complex project tasks based on experience and demonstrated performance.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with AutoCAD Architectural strongly preferred.
Ability to develop construction documentation, including full sets of architectural drawings.
Demonstrated experience creating space plans and optimizing layouts based on client programming.
Solid knowledge of construction principles and practices relevant to commercial interior design.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to follow and apply established design and CAD standards consistently.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with clients and internal teams.
Strong problem-solving skills to address design and technical challenges.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
2 to 10+ years of commercial interior design experience.
Experience developing full set construction documents for commercial interiors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field; a degree in Architecture is acceptable for candidates with interior design experience.
Knowledge in interior architecture, schematic design, and space planning.
Experience as an Interior Designer working on commercial projects.
Familiarity with integrating architectural drawings into standardized CAD templates.
Interest in designing specialized environments for eye doctors and ophthalmology practices.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collegeville, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $45.67/hr.
