What We Want

The Scholastic Performance Specialist I, under general supervision, develops and implements student scholastic performance programs and activities, providing scholastic and career direction and offering services to students in individual and group formats. Directs students to resources that will assist students in becoming academically successful, and monitors student progress and maintains records.

Responsibilities

Case Load

  • Provides general instruction in study skills, note-taking, test-taking skills. Guides student-athletes in the development of time management and in developing organizational skills. Develops strategies for student-athlete's individual learning style. Provide support with programming in the areas of volunteer engagement, career, and leadership development. ​

    Reporting

  • Creates daily progress reports using online system.

    Staff Communication

  • Collaborates with all members of the Center for Student-Athlete Services about progress and individual student needs.

    Compliance

  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning student-athletes: conduct, appearance, road games, punctuality and other areas as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree. ​

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Athletic of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

  • Knowledge of NCAA academic rules.

  • Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
