Position Information

The Customer Service Associate III staffs the TechBuy store and serves as a knowledgeable resource for stakeholders across multiple State agencies and vendors. You’ll help translate technology requirements into accurate purchasing decisions and support special order requests in a professional, service‑focused environment.
The Customer Service Associate III w orks under general supervision to provide comprehensive customer service, administrative support, and operational coordination to multiple departments, programs, or offices. Serves as a senior-level customer service resource ensuring consistent service delivery, and supporting compliance with established policies and procedures. This position is responsible for staffing the TechBuy store during regular business hours and serves as a technical liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors for special order requests. Responsibilities:
TechBuy Store
Responsible for staffing and supporting the TechBuy store during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).
Serves as an information resource for customers, stakeholders, and departmental staff regarding technology hardware offerings, services, processes, and requirements.
Technical Liaison Duties
Acts as a technical liaison between stakeholders submitting special order requests and vendors, facilitating communication, clarifying requirements, and supporting order fulfillment.
Coordinates with internal partners and vendors to ensure accurate specifications, timely processing, and resolution of order-related issues.
Administrative and Records Management
Oversees records management activities to ensure compliance with institutional policies, retention requirements, and operational standards.
Compiles and analyzes data to prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and other administrative documentation.
Makes recommendations for process improvements or administrative changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) years of related customer service, administrative, or operations experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of computer hardware, including distinctions between product tiers within a given manufacturer.
Familiarity with differences between major hardware component manufacturers (e.g., processors, memory, storage, peripherals) and the impact of those differences on performance, compatibility, and cost.
Ability to apply technical knowledge when supporting special order requests, advising stakeholders, and coordinating with vendors.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Pay Grade 6. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications. This is an hourly paid position.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (No nights. No weekends.)
