The College of Business at Stony Brook University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in Finance, starting on September 1, 2026. This position is primarily focused on meeting the teaching needs of our core undergraduate and graduate courses. Required Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship and hold a Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field by the time of appointment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to deliver high-quality instruction in core finance subject areas. Preferred Qualifications: Beyond the core teaching mission, we are interested in candidates who can contribute to the enrichment of our curriculum, including potential electives related to AI applications in Finance. While the position is teaching-oriented, evidence of research potential or a developing research agenda that complements our faculty?s interests?such as corporate finance, investments, behavioral finance, or quantitative finance?is a plus. Proficiency in, or a willingness to teach, courses involving Python for Finance or Personal Finance will also be viewed favorably.
