Job Overview

True North Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, focusing on their overall development and learning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, with experience working with young children from birth to 5 years of age and a deep understanding of principles of childhood development. You will work closely with children, parents, and other educators to create engaging learning experiences that promote growth and well-being. The ideal candidate will work primarily with infants and toddlers, specifically with students aged 2 to 3 years.

 

Duties

  • Aid in the development and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards.
  • Provide individualized support to children, including those with special needs or requiring early intervention.
  • Foster oral language development and early literacy education through engaging activities that lay a foundation for reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Create lesson plans that incorporate various subjects that meet Wyoming State Early Learning Standards
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other educators to enhance the educational experience for all students.
  • Conduct assessments as required to monitor student development and aid in the management of student portfolios.
  • Provide support as needed to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Works with those in the community, such as but not limited to the Park County Early Childhood Liaison, the Children's Resource Center, and others in the community, to ensure proper development of students.
  • Assist in True North Academy events such as fundraisers and/ or other programs for the general public or enrolled families.
  • Maintain all state-mandated training requirements for employment
  • Will attend required Staff Enrichment Huddles
  • Meet all Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements
  • Follows policies and procedures as outlined in the True North Academy Employee Handbook and Parents Handbook
  • Maintain with accuracy all documentation required of True North Academy

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A child abuse and neglect registry free of disqualifying information is to be performed annually by the State of Wyoming Central Registry
  • A Sex Offender registry free of disqualifying information is to be performed annually by the State of Wyoming Central Registry
  • A full fingerprint-based national criminal history check via DCI, free of disqualifying information, every 5 years
  • Pass pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Have current First Aid and CPR and/or ability to obtain
  • Have Current TB Test and/ or TB Risk Assessment Documentation
  • Complete Pre-service Training as outlined in Chapter 4 of the State of Wyoming Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations
  • Child Development Associate Certificate, Associate's Degree or higher degree and/or be actively enrolled in courses for completion of either certification or degree.
