We are looking for a Quality Control Technician that will be responsible for problem solving, decision making, and supervision of all quality related activities on the shift.  Understands and assures compliance with established control plans and sampling frequencies, and effectively communicates to all production departments and management any variations.  Participates in departmental activities by conducting physical tests and visual check to monitor various phases of the production processes.  Evaluates collected data for produce acceptability.  Records data and prepares necessary reports.  Required to advise the relieving Technician, in person, of the activities of the shift, current quality levels, and planned events on the next shift. Responsible for monitoring various process and quality characteristics Operates TRI-DA to monitor glass distortion Operates spectrophotometer to monitor glass spectral properties Scales to measure tonnages Performs visual checks for internal flaws and surface nonconformances  -- edge light. Performs ream checks for monitoring glass homogeneity Analyzes glass defects utilizing the microscope Assures instrumentation is calibrated. Records data via hard copy and electronic media for record retention and data analysis. Communicates quality concerns and provides statistical data as necessary Performs miscellaneous related duties
