Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Clyde, Ohio

Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and improves all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds in a high-volume industrial environment. The role is approximately 60% mechanical and 40% electrical, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems and support of a highly automated operation that includes numerous robots and auxiliary equipment. This position ensures equipment reliability, supports safe plant operations, and completes both reactive and preventive maintenance tasks in a timely and compliant manner.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems that make up the majority of onsite issues.

  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, relief valves, hoses, cylinders, conveyor belts, chains, gears, and motors.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including VFDs, transformers, 480V systems, 240V single-phase, and three-phase power.

  • Install and work with three-phase electrical systems, including running conduit and pulling wire as needed.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues safely up to 480V, following all applicable safety procedures.

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to equipment to identify abnormal sounds and locate causes of trouble.

  • Dismantle equipment and components to gain access to and remove defective parts for repair or replacement.

  • Inspect used parts to determine wear, dimensional changes, and whether repair or replacement is required.

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to restore proper operation.

  • Repair or replace defective parts, then lubricate and clean machines to maintain optimal performance.

  • Experience with pneumatic systems and components.

  • Repair electrical equipment and control systems to maintain reliable and safe operation.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with applicable quality procedures and documentation standards.

  • Conduct plant-wide safety checks on equipment to identify and address potential hazards.

  • Complete maintenance request forms thoroughly and promptly to document work needs and actions taken.

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and accurately complete PM books and records upon completion of work.

  • Follow all safety standards and procedures in accordance with OSHA and ANSI regulations, including proper use of lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Complete requisitions for maintenance items and parts required for equipment repair, obtaining proper approvals.

  • Ensure timely completion of all maintenance repairs to machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.

  • Repair and perform preventive maintenance on all auxiliary equipment and properly tag completed work.

  • Work effectively in a facility that includes numerous robots and automated equipment, supporting their ongoing operation.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to prioritize work, support production needs, and maintain a safe work environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clyde, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
