IBM Senior Data Engineer DataStage in Cluj, Romania
Introduction
We are looking for an experienced ETL Developer to design and build solutions for extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, primarily using IBM InfosphereDataStage.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL data flows and transformations in our DataStage environment.
Your role and responsibilities
Design and implement ETL data flows and transformations in DataStage.
Collaborate closely with business analysts to understand data requirements and design effective solutions.
Optimize data flows to improve performance and reduce costs.
Contribute to data management projects, including data modeling, data validation, and quality control implementation.
Ensure data quality and reliability by conducting thorough testing and validation.
Maintain and update existing ETL data flows and transformations.
Develop shell scripts for Unix/Linux environments
Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code
Debug and resolve code-level issues in ETL workflows
Participate in continuous improvement of data management processes and tools.
Required technical and professional expertise
Proficiency with IBM DataStage, SQL
Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell scripting
Good understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and ETL best practices
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Availability for oncall activities ( when needed, 2-3 times per year)
Preferred technical and professional experience
Proficiency in data governance and data quality tools (e.g., data validation, data cleansing, etc.)
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
French language is a plus
