Your role and responsibilities

As an AWS Data Engineer, you will design and build scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions that power analytics and business decision-making for enterprise clients. Working within our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Center, you will collaborate with architects, analysts, and delivery teams to deliver production-grade data platforms on AWS.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop batch and streaming data pipelines using Python and Spark

• Build and deploy data processing solutions within AWS environments

• Model and transform complex datasets to support analytics and reporting use cases

• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud data platforms

• Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of data solutions

• Work in agile teams to deliver robust, client-facing data products

This position offers exposure to modern cloud data ecosystems and the opportunity to contribute to large-scale transformation initiatives across industries.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts

• Hands-on experience using Python and Spark in production environments (ideally 1+ year of practical experience)

• Experience building and deploying data pipelines in AWS environments (ideally 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience)

• Understanding of distributed data systems and data warehousing principles

• Experience working in agile delivery teams

• Professional-level English

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Athena, Redshift, or EMR

• Exposure to Lakehouse architectures or modern data platforms

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices or DevOps tools
