Digilent, a National Instruments, now Emerson Company, specializes in the development and manufacture of FPGA-based products for education, research, and the design/prototyping of embedded systems aimed at high-performance automated measurements systems. We are looking for an entry level digital design engineer to work in creating VHDL projects/IP-s and designing FPGA based digital or mixed signal products.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :
Develop specific hardware for digital development boards and instrumentation systems.
Create VHDL applications and IP-s for instrumentation and digital demos
Perform research as required to complete your projects.
Work and interact with a wide variety of geographically distributed R&D staff.
Diagnose and debug technical challenges with your project.
Test your design using hardware prototypes and evaluation modules.
Interact with software developers to test your project.

For This Role, You Will Need :
B.S. in electronics engineering or computer science
Strong understanding of digital modules – state machines, registers, counters, memories, combinatorial logic, etc.
Signal integrity and digital timing fundamentals
Specific CAD tools used in the design phase – AMD Vivado Design Suite, TCL, GitHub
Passion for learning and working with complex digital designs
English Language Competency/effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apar t:
Knowledge of FPGA internal structure and operation (AMD Ultrascale, 7-Series);
Knowledge of common digital interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART;
Ability to use laboratory equipment for debugging and measurements: oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter.
