Job Description
General Purpose
Lead yard operations based on the needs of the assigned location. Assist the supervisor and provide direction to operational team members. Coordinate the daily activities across shifts and address operational issues, including those of a moderately complex nature. Serve as a local liaison with the plant, haulers, lab personnel, etc., as well as the initial resource and contact for uncommon situations and/or escalated issues from others. Lead, motivate, and listen to team members and management to effectively maintain and improve efficiencies of the yard operation.
We are hiring two overnight Trans/ Distribution Coordinators.
Shift: 6pm–6am, rotating 3–4 days/week
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily activities of all scheduled loads to the plant. Resolve any issues that may arise in a timely manner and keep management apprised of any issues
Serve as an escalation point and resource for yard leads
Maintain all systems that correspond with the delivery of loads to customer
Maintain accurate spreadsheets with daily load counts, audit information, and any other pertinent data. Enter all information into appropriate systems
Ensure all documentation is within required compliance of the DFA and/or the customer. This includes, but is not limited to, manifest data, sample vials, and seal information
Work with haulers to ensure appropriate tankers are being returned to each hauling company
Keep an open line of communication with DFA’s Southwest office concerning all events and any problematic issues that could affect normal operations. Develop positive working relationships with haulers, vendors, and colleagues
Coordinate with appropriate hauling personnel to help resolve any issues or concerns between hauling companies and the yard operations and/or with the plant. Document and discuss with yard lead and supervisor
Support a positive culture that fosters high performance and exemplifies positive and team-oriented values in daily activities. Provide input into staffing activities, including hiring, training, scheduling, managing overtime, and evaluating each staff member for performance reviews
Work closely with all personnel from the plant, lab, and management while supporting the operation to ensure accurate information is documented and daily orders are being met.
Promote a safe working environment with haulers, vendors, and other personnel on DFA property or working with DFA equipment
Help coordinate a consistent training program across all shifts. Assist in training leads and all associates to ensure the yard maintains consistency

Requirements
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education) preferred
2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, dispatch, and/or transportation experience, including demonstrated leadership attributes or team lead or supervisory experience
Certification and/or License: may be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of distribution and transportation practices
Understanding of industry, safety, quality policies
Knowledge of geographic area
Skill in supervision and training others
Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Quick learner of new software (ie: Yard management, Ever.Ag software, etc.)
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to adapt and manage to change effectively
Able to multi-task and problem solve
Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
Able to organize time, energy, and activities effectively to achieve goals (i.e., organizational skills)
