The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical support for production while developing a strong, safety-focused maintenance and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Lead and manage plant maintenance operations, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs

  • Ensure equipment uptime, reliability, and performance to support production goals

  • Analyze downtime and failure data to drive root cause analysis and long-term solutions

  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships

  • Plan and schedule plant shutdowns in partnership with internal teams and external contractors

Engineering & Capital Projects

  • Plan and execute capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning

  • Provide engineering support for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new installations

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

  • Support layout changes, automation initiatives, and energy efficiency projects

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors

  • Establish clear performance expectations and promote accountability

  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork

  • Coordinate training to enhance technical skills and equipment knowledge

Safety, Quality, & Compliance

  • Champion plant safety and quality programs and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning
