Smurfit Westrock Helper in Clinton, Iowa
The opportunity:
The Press Helper role is part of a line-of-progression structure, responsible for supporting Press Operators and providing day\u2011to\u2011day assistance to the Sheeting/Press Manager. This position plays a key role in maintaining steady production flow by feeding materials, managing supplies, and ensuring the work area remains safe and organized. The helper will also step in to fill operator duties as needed to maintain continuous operations.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Feed materials into the press machine to support continuous production.
Load and unload pallets of stock into press and sheeting machines.
Load chemicals and paint into the press machine and assist with troubleshooting operational issues.
Climb stairs to access multiple areas of the equipment safely and efficiently.
Clean spills and maintain a tidy work environment to support safety and operational efficiency.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sheeting/Press Manager to support department operations.
Performs duties in alignment with all safety policies, including wearing required PPE.
Helps ensure departmental compliance with 5S and SQF standards, and promptly reports any food safety concerns to management.

Ability to read and write complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guides, and procedure manuals.
Strong mathematical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Ability to work overtime as needed, including significant overtime during peak periods.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
