Anticipated Vacancies English Teachers High School 2.0 FTE Probationary Positions

Certifications/Qualifications
Valid NYS English Language Arts (Grades 7-12) certification
Strong pedagogical approach to teaching and learning in English Language Arts, with a focus on NYS standards and skills in grades 10-12
Experience with curriculum, instruction and assessment at the high school level is preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for adolescent learners
Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that develop skills in reading, writing, listening/speaking and language
Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, close reading of texts, skillful writing and clear expression of ideas
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Utilize various instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning
Prepare students for college and career readiness through rigorous instruction
Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administrators to support student success
Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives
