The Companies of J.J. Young is seeking experienced Class A Truck Drivers to join our client's transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks to deliver freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving record, excellent knowledge of truck operations, and the ability to handle diverse cargo types. Responsibilities * Safely operate tractor-trailers, including trucks with manual transmissions, across local and regional routes * Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary * Drive refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or freight-specific vehicles based on assignment * Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations * Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness * Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to safety standards * Assist with loading, securing cargo, and ensuring proper weight distribution for safe transport * Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status and any issues encountered * Handle documentation accurately for deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs * Support warehouse operations by assisting with load & unload activities when requiredRequirements * Valid commercial drivers license (CDL-A) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type * Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling * Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks * Knowledge of freight loading/unloading procedures and safety protocols * Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts if necessary * Strong understanding of route planning and driving regulations across different jurisdictions * Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance * Physical ability to load/unload cargo and perform vehicle inspections regularly
