Aerotek Lead Welder in Clifton, New Jersey
Job Title: Lead Welder
Job Summary:
The Lead Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding while supervising and guiding a team of welders to meet production, quality, and safety goals. This role serves as a hands-on technical leader, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with blueprints, specifications, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a team of welders on daily production activities
Perform complex welding on structural, sheet metal, or pipe components
Assign work, prioritize jobs, and ensure deadlines are met
Train and mentor welders on procedures, techniques, and safety practices
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
Inspect finished welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
Troubleshoot welding issues and assist with process improvements
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams as needed
Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup and operation
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on welding experience
Prior experience leading or mentoring welders
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding (based on application)
Strong blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation skills
Knowledge of welding codes, procedures, and quality standards
Ability to perform welding in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

This is a Permanent position based out of Clifton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
401K, Health Benefits including medical, dental, and vision
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Clifton,NJ.
