Job Title: Manufacturing Paint Technician

Location: Cleveland, OH Employment Type: Full-time


Position Summary

The Manufacturing Paint Technician is responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to protective equipment components in accordance with strict quality standards, customer specifications, and internal production requirements. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, consistency, and craftsmanship to ensure products meet aesthetic, functional, and compliance expectations. The Paint Technician plays a critical role in delivering production-ready components while maintaining operational excellence and audit readiness.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for paint application through cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming processes
  • Apply specialized coatings and finishes using spray equipment in accordance with technical specifications and industry standards
  • Execute all painting activities in compliance with ISO quality requirements, internal procedures, and customer specifications
  • Identify, document, and escalate quality issues or non-conformances following established procedures
  • Ensure consistent color, coating thickness, and texture using appropriate tools and measurement equipment
  • Operate and maintain spray booths, ovens, curing stations, and ventilation systems in compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Inspect finished components for visual defects, coating integrity, and adherence to performance criteria
  • Maintain accurate documentation for batch tracking, paint logs, quality checks, and part traceability
  • Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshoot spray gun or booth performance issues
  • Follow all safety, PPE, and hazardous material handling protocols in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to paint application processes and throughput
  • Work collaboratively with quality, engineering, and production teams to support process improvements and new product introductions
  • Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for hazardous materials
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint equipment and work areas
  • Adhere to lean manufacturing practices and all plant safety and operational policies

  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship with minimal rework or defects
  • Follow documented work instructions, control plans, and quality checkpoints
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and inspections by ensuring documentation accuracy and process compliance

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 1--3 years of experience in industrial painting (automotive appliance, composite, or similar environments preferred)

Experience painting contoured surfaces and applying
