Laboratory Technician
Location: Cleveland, OH Pay: $18.00 per hour Shift: Full-Time, 1st Shift -- 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory tasks to support quality control, testing, and research operations. Responsibilities include preparing and testing samples, recording results, maintaining equipment, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs). This is an entry-level position with on-site training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process lab samples according to established protocols.
- Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative tests using lab instruments.
- Accurately record and communicate test data in lab notebooks or digital systems.
- Assist senior lab staff with instrument setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Perform regular equipment maintenance and safety checks.
- Follow all safety, quality control, and compliance procedures (OSHA, SOPs).
- Maintain clean and organized work areas; restock lab supplies as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in science preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of lab procedures, chemical handling, and safety practices.
- Comfortable using computers for data entry and basic reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferred
- Prior lab experience or coursework in chemistry, biology, or related fields.
- Familiarity with basic lab instruments and measurement tools.
Work Environment
- On-site laboratory setting with standard PPE and safety protocols.
- May involve standing for extended periods and handling specimens or materials.
