Position Summary:
The Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the successful execution of a high volume of complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives that support business growth, operational excellence, and product innovation. This role oversees the Project Management function, ensures strong governance and execution discipline, and partners with cross-functional leaders to deliver initiatives on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.
The Director will play a critical role in managing a dynamic portfolio of projects at varying stages of development, balancing competing priorities while maintaining visibility, accountability, and consistent execution standards across the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop a high-performing team of project managers capable of managing a large and diverse portfolio of projects simultaneously.
Establish clear prioritization frameworks to ensure resources are aligned to the most impactful initiatives.
Support and execute the strategic direction of the Project Management function in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Establish and maintain effective program governance processes to ensure consistent, predictable project delivery across a high-volume environment.
Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development to build team capability and scalability.
Program & Portfolio Management
Oversee and manage a broad portfolio of concurrent projects, ensuring appropriate prioritization, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Apply industry best practices to develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including risk mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
Ensure timely delivery of contracted goods and services while meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets.
Monitor program performance, risks, capacity constraints, and interdependencies across the portfolio, proactively driving issue resolution.
Implement tools and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into project status, workload, and portfolio health.
Enhance and manage product change and item creation processes to improve operational efficiency, visibility, and accuracy.
Lead and strengthen the new product introduction (NPI) process, establishing standing meetings, clear report-out cadence, and structured stage-gate discipline.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders on project status, portfolio health, risks, and overall progress.
Foster collaboration across departments—including Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance—to ensure milestone achievement.
Partner with senior leadership to align priorities, manage competing demands, and remove execution barriers.
Change Management
Develop and implement change management strategies to support successful adoption of new initiatives.
Ensure clear, consistent communication across all levels of the organization to drive alignment and engagement.
Own and drive enhancements and changes to existing procedures, enabling streamlined and standardized processes across departments and functions.
Support organizational readiness through structured communication plans, stakeholder engagement, and reinforcement mechanisms to sustain improvements.
Knowledge and Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in project or program management, including leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience managing a high volume of concurrent projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Proven ability to prioritize competing initiatives, manage resource constraints, and maintain execution discipline across a broad portfolio.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Stage-Gate).
Experience implementing governance processes and driving cross-functional alignment.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred: Experience working within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool to support item creation, product changes, and new product introductions.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Master’s degree preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Compensation Range for the Position:
$120,060.00 - $159,079.00 - $198,098.00 USD
Target Cash Profit Sharing for the Position:
18.00%
Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
