Job Title: Programmer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Programmer to join our team, specializing in CNC programming. You will interpret blueprints and designs, develop and write programs, and optimize machining processes to ensure high-quality output.
Responsibilities
Read and understand technical blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings to grasp the exact specifications for a part.
Build and write programs for CNC machines using programming software such as Mastercam to define the part's geometry and machining operations.
Predict and forecast speeds and feeds for job quoting purposes.
Determine the most efficient sequence of operations, select the correct cutting tools, and set precise speeds and feed rates for optimal cutting and material removal.
Simulate or run tests on programs to ensure they are error-free and produce the desired components accurately.
Make manual adjustments to machine settings and program parameters to meet exact specifications and ensure high-quality output.
Identify and resolve problems that arise during the manufacturing process, continuously looking for ways to increase production efficiency and reduce downtime.
Essential Skills
Experience in vertical milling and vertical boring milling.
Proficiency in Mastercam, Solidworks, and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of trigonometry, precision machining, and precision measuring equipment.
Experience with tooling set-up and CNC programming.
Knowledge of GD&T and program editing (Mastercam).
Proficiency in G & M codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with blueprint reading and CNC programming.

Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, well-lit, and non-temperature-controlled shop. We have a very laid-back atmosphere with a clean and organized tool room. The shop currently employs 8 machinists and aims to grow to 12, having recently installed a lightly used boring mill. We operate only a 1st shift, working approximately 60-hour weeks from 6 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with half-day optional overtime on Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
