Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machinery in the Everest department while consistently meeting production standards and following ISO 9001 regulations and guidelines. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, performing precise measurements, and ensuring that all machined parts meet quality and safety requirements in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery in the Everest department while adhering to established production standards and ISO 9001 regulations and guidelines.

  • Operate CNC mills and related CNC equipment to machine parts according to specifications.

  • Inspect finished and in-process products against blueprints and prints, identifying any flaws, defects, or nonconformities in the material.

  • Perform deburring of parts when necessary to meet quality and finish requirements.

  • Interpret and work from drawings, blueprints, route sheets, process sheets, diagrams, specifications, program readouts, and shop orders to plan and verify work.

  • Obtain the proper set of tools from the tool crib, select appropriate insert types, and verify tool accuracy before and during machining.

  • Determine proper operation sequences by reviewing route sheets, diagrams, specifications, and instructions.

  • Make accurate calculations for tool depth, offsets, and tool adjustments to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.

  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to perform quality inspections.

  • Move completed materials and parts to the next workstation or process in the production flow.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and safety standards.

  • Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement of machining processes and product quality.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of CNC machining experience.

  • Proficiency in operating CNC mills and CNC machinery.

  • Strong blueprint and drawing reading skills.

  • Hands-on quality inspection experience using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Ability to interpret route sheets, process sheets, diagrams, specifications, and program readouts.

  • Capability to calculate tool depths, offsets, and adjustments accurately.

  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CNC machine setup experience.

  • Technical school education or formal training in CNC machining.

  • Experience working with CNC mills, lathes, Swiss machines, or similar equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a machining manufacturing environment that includes CNC mills, lathes, Swiss machines, and a small assembly area. The facility is well lit, organized, and designed to support efficient workflow and high-quality production. The operation manufactures actuators, fasteners, and various products for aerospace and factory solutions industries. The position is on first shift, typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work is performed around CNC equipment and precision measurement tools, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and maintaining an orderly workspace. Appropriate work attire suitable for a machining and manufacturing setting is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
