Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Cleveland, Ohio
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role involves managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, and supporting month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will excel in multitasking, have strong organizational skills, and possess a collaborative mindset while being able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue customer invoices promptly and accurately on a daily basis.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with the general ledger to ensure data accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between customer payments and invoices.
• Respond to customer inquiries related to billing and payment issues.
• Support month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reports.
• Collaborate with departments to address billing disputes and resolve vendor-related issues.
• Review vendor invoices for proper documentation and approval before processing payments.
• Enter and upload invoices into accounting software while maintaining data integrity.
• Reconcile credit card payments, freight invoices, employee expense reports, and tariff-related transactions.
• Provide documentation for audits and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; an associate’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
• Two to three years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Concur or similar expense management systems is a plus.
