Description
We are looking for a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced security systems, including video surveillance and access control solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network cabling and low voltage systems, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
• Travel to customer sites to install and configure video, security, and access control systems, including solutions from manufacturers such as Verkada, Hanwha, and Honeywell.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair access control components like electric strikes, mag locks, card readers, sensors, and control boards.
• Interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate equipment installation.
• Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations related to access control and fire safety during installations.
• Collaborate with customers to assess their security needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, adhering to company policies and customer requirements.
• Work with network cabling, fiber-optic systems, and low voltage equipment to support security infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring their systems are fully operational and optimized.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in security technology to continuously improve service offerings.
Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in access control, security systems, or a related field.
• Proficiency in network cabling, including installation and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated expertise in low voltage cabling and fiber-optic systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of access control components such as mag locks, card readers, and control boards.
• Familiarity with local codes and regulations pertaining to access control and fire safety.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
