The Role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Principal II Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to join the Futures Division, supporting the development and acquisition of ICBM Advanced Planning projects. You will be part of a tight-knit team charged with supporting the development and acquisition of advanced capabilities for ICBM weapon systems, including hardware development, experimental flight testing, advanced materials, and future technology development and insertion. Specifically, you will directly support the Advanced Planning Branch Program Manager in acquiring and integrating new technologies for the next-generation ICBM, and assist the government customer in the review and assessment of design, documentation, architectures, and technical products to meet acquisition requirements and timelines.
Who You Are
We are looking for an experienced Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer ready to contribute in a fast-paced environment. You must possess high energy and be comfortable working with changing priorities. A sample of traits required:
Provide technical leadership and expertise in aerospace/mechanical engineering to support the acquisition and development of advanced capabilities for the Advanced Planning Branch.
Support the development and management of program requirements, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks to ensure successful execution.
Support the development and assist with maintaining integrated program schedules, track progress, and identify potential delays.
Support the development and management of program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control.
Contribute to the planning, execution, and analysis of experimental flight tests.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS/MS in Aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematics.
12 yrs (10 yrs with MS degree) of progressive experience in aerospace hardware design and development
At least 6 years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership
Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a background investigation completed< 6 years prior to hiring
Must be eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
ICBM maintenance, training systems, or operations experience
ICBM Acquisitions experience
Professional Engineering License
Systems Engineering experience and/or Certification
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
USAF Nuclear topic education
Engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence
Classified government IT systems
Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
