We are seeking a reliable and detail‑orientedScale Clerkto join our Barrett Paving Materials – New York Central team and support daily operations at our Litchfield quarry. This seasonal position plays a key role in ensuring accurate transaction processing, smooth customer interactions, and efficient administrative support for our construction materials operations.
The ideal candidate is customer‑focused, comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, and able to complete administrative tasks with accuracy and professionalism. Full training will be provided.
Compensation
$20-$22.00/hour
Main Responsibilities
Generate scale tickets to accurately record customer sales
Report ticket corrections daily to the Accounting Assistant
Process credit card payments for PAP sales
Create purchase orders based on rental contracts and sales quotes
Track inventory deliveries and maintain records
Process accounts payable in accordance with purchasing policies
Order general office and operator booth supplies (paper, ink, cleaning supplies, etc.)
Assist the accounting team in preparing daily and monthly closing files
Collect and enter customer order information each day
Provide general administrative support as needed
Skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers and field teams
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Comfortable navigating a computer, opening programs, and completing spreadsheets
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for most of the workday
Ability to occasionally lift small items (packages, reams of paper, office supplies)
Ability to work in an active quarry / industrial environment
