PDS Tech Commercial Welder 1st Shift in Clayton, North Carolina
Structural Steel Welding Technician – Temp to Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:45 PM (Saturdays as needed)

What You’ll Do
Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on steel and aluminum
Cut steel using oxy‑acetylene torches and plasma arc equipment
Fabricate and assemble components according to blueprints and technical drawings
Verify work meets specifications and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Work collaboratively with a team to complete structural assemblies
Accurately complete time reporting and job documentation
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 3 years of experience with MIG, TIG, and Arc welding
Minimum 3 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints
Minimum 3 years of experience using oxy‑acetylene cutting equipment
Metalworking experience with press brakes, drill presses, and shears
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
Ability to work 10‑hour shifts and weekends as required
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to pass a welding test, background check, and drug screening
Equipment & PPE Requirements
Steel‑toe boots
Welding helmet, jacket, and gloves
Basic welding tools (e.g., chipping hammer)
Safety glasses will be provided if needed
Preferred Qualifications
3–5 years of structural steel welding experience
AWS D1.1 certification
Familiarity with weld testing methods such as dye penetrant
Framing experience
Plasma arc and laser measuring experience

Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
