JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a rising junior or rising senior who is motivated to join our Trane Clarksville team as an enthusiastic and driven Quality Intern to play a key role in advancing quality improvements, strengthening process controls, and supporting new technology initiatives within our operations, in the Clarksville location.
As a Quality Intern, you’ll be an active contributor to Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) activities, productivity and innovation efforts, quality initiatives, and broader continuous improvement projects. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities, solve problems, and help enhance overall operational performance.
This role is designated as on-site , Mon-Fri, putting you right in the heart of the action, offering you hands‑on experience and direct exposure throughout a flexible, 12‑week internship running from mid‑May to mid‑August.
EXPOSURES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with day-to-day production floor activities, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Support process improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and workflow.
Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends or improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and operators to document standard work and identify bottlenecks.
Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action development.
Help update or create production documentation such as work instructions, process maps, and training materials.
Support inventory management, material flow, and logistics activities as needed.
Contribute to team meetings and provide insights or recommendations based on observations.
Assist in implementing Lean or continuous improvement tools such as 5S, Kaizen ideas, or visual management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Actively pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field(s).
Currently a rising junior or senior
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and work with cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop‑floor environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other basic data analysis tools.
Interest in manufacturing, production systems, or operational efficiency.
