TITLE: BUS DRIVER
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 Years of Age, valid school Bus Driver's Certificate issued by MS Department of Education Approved Instructor
Possess or be willing to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with a "P" and "S" endorsement
Have an acceptable driving record with no convictions deemed disqualifying under the MS Commercial Driver's License Law, Sections 63-1-73 through 63-1-90, MS Code as Amended
Demonstrated sufficient strength, agility, hearing, and visual acuity to exercise safe control over the school bus and passengers
SUPERVISES: N/A REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and effective transportation so that students may take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the District.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including, but are not limited to:
Obeys and observes all traffic laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses
Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and report disorderly conduct to the Chief Operations Officer promptly using the school bus conduct form
Discharges students at authorized stops only
Keeps assigned schedule
Keeps assigned school bus clean
Transports authorized students only
Performs daily pre-trip inspection of school bus
Notifies the mechanic in case of mechanical failure
Immediately reports all accidents and completes the required accident reports
Exercises responsible leadership when on a school trip
Exercises good conduct and courtesy to other motorists and members of the community
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
Supports the Clarksdale Municipal School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees
