Job Title: Grinder / Shop Laborer
Job Description
This role focuses on sanding, grinding, deburring, and polishing finished parts using a variety of hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment. You will prepare metal and non-metal components to meet quality standards, support general production tasks, and perform other duties as assigned to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Sand and grind finished parts to meet quality and surface finish requirements.
Deburr parts to remove sharp edges, burrs, and imperfections.
Polish metal and non-metal surfaces to achieve specified finishes.
Operate sanders, drills, and other power tools safely and efficiently.
Use hand tools for grinding, deburring, polishing, and general shop tasks.
Inspect parts visually and by feel to ensure they meet quality expectations.
Handle, move, and position parts and materials throughout the work area.
Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
Perform general labor and shop support tasks as needed.
Carry out other duties as assigned to support production and team goals.
Essential Skills
1+ years of manufacturing grinding and general production experience.
Experience with grinding, deburring, and polishing operations.
Ability to safely operate sanders, drills, and other power tools.
Proficiency using hand tools for grinding, deburring, and sanding.
Ability to stand on your feet for multiple hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed during the shift.
Capability to walk, carry, reach, sit, stand, push, and pull during regular work activities.
Ability to hold and use hand tools with both hands for extended periods.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished parts.
Reliability and willingness to perform a variety of shop labor tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general labor or shop labor in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working as a grinder operator or in a similar production role.
Comfort working with both metal and non-metal materials.
Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays based on business needs.
Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions and safety guidelines.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, providing a comfortable and consistent work setting throughout the year. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with typical overtime available on Saturdays during periods of high business volume. Work is hands-on and physically active, requiring frequent standing, walking, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. You will regularly use sanders, drills, hand tools, and other power tools at dedicated workstations in the shop environment, following standard safety practices and wearing appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claremore, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
