Job Title: Grinder / Shop Laborer
Job Description
This role focuses on sanding, grinding, and polishing finished parts using a variety of power and hand tools in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will support general production activities, ensure parts meet quality standards, and assist with additional shop tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Sand and grind finished parts to meet quality and specification requirements.
Operate sanders, drills, and other power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Polish metal and non-metal surfaces to achieve the required finish.
Deburr and smooth parts to remove sharp edges and imperfections.
Inspect parts visually to ensure surfaces are properly finished and free of defects.
Follow written and verbal instructions for each job and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures while operating grinding, sanding, and polishing equipment.
Handle, move, and position materials and parts throughout the production area.
Perform other general labor and shop duties as assigned to support production needs.
Essential Skills
1+ years of manufacturing grinding or general production experience.
Hands-on experience with grinding, deburring, and polishing processes.
Ability to safely operate sanders, drills, and other power tools.
Ability to effectively use a variety of hand tools for finishing work.
Capability to stand and be on your feet for multiple hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed during the workday.
Physical ability to walk, carry, reach, sit, stand, push, and pull throughout the shift.
Attention to detail to ensure parts are finished accurately and consistently.
Reliability and punctuality to support production schedules.
Willingness to perform a range of general labor tasks in a shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as a grinder operator or in a similar shop labor role.
General labor background in a manufacturing or production setting.
Comfort working with both metal and non-metal materials.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
Interest in long-term growth within a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, providing a comfortable and consistent temperature throughout the year. Standard shifts run Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with frequent Saturday work during periods of high volume, and an alternative shift runs Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. with similar Saturday expectations. Work involves standing for extended periods, walking, carrying materials, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs while using both hands to operate grinders, sanders, drills, and other power and hand tools. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and proper use of equipment and attire appropriate for a shop setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claremore, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
