Saint-Gobain Production Supervisor in CLAREMONT, North Carolina

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all coordination of shipping and receiving activities, safety and safety initiatives, quality, and overall operational effectiveness in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable laws, and business objectives. This individual will also be responsible for managing local delivery drivers, loading tankers, processing all necessary paperwork, and, overall, will be accountable for all aspects of the site.

Shift: Days

Essential Functions:

  • Daily performance of all production operations

  • Schedule and perform unloading and loading of tankers, rail cars and totes.

  • Safe operation of PIT and dock safety compliance is mandatory

  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, quality, and housekeeping/5S

  • Daily management of the Shipping and Receiving Department including scheduling, loading/unloading, batch cards, receiving into SAP, packaging of customer orders in pails, drums and totes for on time delivery

  • Assists in all monthly inventory counts and reconciliations as well as monthly EHS checks

Required:

  • High School Degree or GED

  • 5+ years of previous Operator experience

  • Computer and Microsoft application proficient (Excel, Word, SAP)

  • Leadership - must be comfortable upholding plant safety, environmental, and production standards and not afraid to give out disciplinary actions working with plant manager.

  • Forklift certification (can be earned / renewed through work training)

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years experience managing a small team of hourly employees

  • 1+ years of experience troubleshooting basic mechanical / electrical issues

Vision - important for color distinction, visual inspection, measuring/assembling at a distance close to eye is essential to job (60-90%); Reading & Writing - expressing or receiving detailed information by nonverbal means (90-100%); Climb / Balance (0-30%); Bend / Stoop / Kneel / Crouch / Crawl (30-60%); Standing / Walking (30-60%); Sitting (30-60%); Finger / Grasp / Handle / Feel - primarily with fingers (90-100%); Talk / Hear (90-100%); Repetitive Motions (60-90%)
