Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist and Programmer
Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work in a family-owned fabrication and machine shop, focusing on CNC mill setup, operation, and programming in a fast-paced production environment. You will work independently on a variety of CNC mills, perform intermediate G-code editing, and use CAD/CAM software to support efficient and accurate machining.
Responsibilities
Set up CNC mills for production runs, including tooling, fixturing, and program loading.
Program CNC machines and perform intermediate G-code editing to optimize machining processes.
Operate CNC mills to produce parts to specification in a fast-paced job shop environment.
Inspect parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure they meet print and quality requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to maintain production quality and efficiency.
Work independently on a variety of CNC mills while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Adapt to changing priorities and a variety of jobs typical of a job shop environment.
Essential Skills
Prior CNC machining experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
Proven CNC mill setup experience, including tooling and fixturing.
Intermediate CNC programming experience with the ability to edit G-code.
Ability to operate CNC mills safely and efficiently in a production setting.
Ability to perform accurate inspection on parts using appropriate measuring tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Intermediate experience with CAD/CAM software.
Experience with troubleshooting CNC machine and program issues.
Familiarity with both lathe and mill setups is a plus.
Flexibility to handle a variety of parts and jobs typical of a job shop setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in a smaller machine shop with fewer than 50 people, fostering a personable and supportive atmosphere. It is a true job shop environment where flexibility is important and the work can vary from day to day. The position follows a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dress code is casual, with work boots required, and you will work around CNC mills and related machining equipment in a hands-on production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00/hr.
