Citigroup Credit Analyst – Commercial / Institutional Banking in Ciudad De Mexico, Mexico
Citi is looking for a Credit Analyst to join its credit organization in Mexico City. This role provides hands‑on exposure to credit analysis, financial spreading, and transaction support across a diverse client portfolio, working closely with Credit Officers, Relationship Managers, and regional partners.
This position is well suited for professionals who already have solid credit fundamentals and are looking to deepen their technical expertise, gain broader deal exposure, and continue building a career within a leading global financial institution.
Role Orverview
As a Credit Analyst, you will support the credit approval and monitoring process through detailed financial analysis, risk assessment, and quality control of credit applications. You will handle increasingly complex credits independently, apply sound judgment, and contribute to the overall quality and timeliness of underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Credit Analysis & Financial Review
Spread and analyze new, renewal, and interim financial statements , including business and individual tax returns, in line with internal guidelines
Prepare clear and concise credit analysis using customer, peer, portfolio, and industry data
Perform preliminary credit assessments ranging from simple to moderately complex transactions, including:
Cash flow analysis
Debt service coverage
Collateral evaluation
Guarantor net worth analysis
Credit Support & Collaboration
Partner closely with Credit Officers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Center teams to support underwriting and portfolio management
Act as a point of support on loan agreement and covenant interpretation , monitoring, and follow‑up
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure applications and analysis are accurate, complete, and ready for underwriting approval
Team Contribution & Development
Provide guidance, training, and day‑to‑day support to junior Credit Analysts
Serve as backup support to the Application Preparation team as needed
Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to credit processes and analysis quality
Risk & Controls
Appropriately assess risk in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Contribute to a strong risk culture by applying ethical judgment and escalating issues transparently when required
Qualifications & Experience
Advanced English (written and verbal) for interaction with regional or global stakeholders
2–5 years of experience in a financial institution with a focus on credit analysis , financial spreading, or underwriting support
Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Experience using credit spreading and analysis tools
Ability to analyze data, identify key risks, and communicate findings clearly
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
