Leveraged Continuous Improvement Engineer

Position Overview:

The Leveraged Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing sites and providing technical expertise in areas such as: polymer manufacturing, film casting, high temperature lamination and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and extensive slitting operations

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the resolution of multiple, complex projects with high level of autonomy and accountability. Projects will focus on problems impacting product quality, yields, cost, or capacity of the manufacturing operations.

  • Support scale-up of new products across the manufacturing sites.

  • Develop technical expertise in common manufacturing processes and leverage across the sites.

  • Make recommendations to Area and Technical managers to improve organizational capability and production performance.

  • Mentor junior engineers to develop their technical capabilities and contributions.

  • Assist with the recruiting and hiring of new engineers into the organization.

Skills required:

  • Demonstrated expertise of mechanical and chemical processes and methodologies applicable to a manufacturing operation.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated strong teamwork and networking skills.

  • Leadership capability and the ability to coach, influence and negotiate.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high volume workload with shifting and competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral). Flexible/motivated self-starter.

The position is located at Circleville, OH or Pasadena, TX . Projects will be focused at the four ICS Films and Laminates manufacturing locations: Circleville, OH, Pasadena, TX (Bayport), Towanda, PA and Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years operations or manufacturing technical experience required.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required; Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.

Additional Information:

  • This position may require the employee to travel 25% of the time depending on project location.

  • Off hour interface and support of global project teams will be required.
