Leveraged Continuous Improvement Engineer
Position Overview:
The Leveraged Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing sites and providing technical expertise in areas such as: polymer manufacturing, film casting, high temperature lamination and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and extensive slitting operations
Responsibilities:
Lead the resolution of multiple, complex projects with high level of autonomy and accountability. Projects will focus on problems impacting product quality, yields, cost, or capacity of the manufacturing operations.
Support scale-up of new products across the manufacturing sites.
Develop technical expertise in common manufacturing processes and leverage across the sites.
Make recommendations to Area and Technical managers to improve organizational capability and production performance.
Mentor junior engineers to develop their technical capabilities and contributions.
Assist with the recruiting and hiring of new engineers into the organization.
Skills required:
Demonstrated expertise of mechanical and chemical processes and methodologies applicable to a manufacturing operation.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated strong teamwork and networking skills.
Leadership capability and the ability to coach, influence and negotiate.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high volume workload with shifting and competing priorities.
Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral). Flexible/motivated self-starter.
The position is located at Circleville, OH or Pasadena, TX . Projects will be focused at the four ICS Films and Laminates manufacturing locations: Circleville, OH, Pasadena, TX (Bayport), Towanda, PA and Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years operations or manufacturing technical experience required.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required; Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
Additional Information:
This position may require the employee to travel 25% of the time depending on project location.
Off hour interface and support of global project teams will be required.
