Base Pay- $25.09
*will start at 95% of base rate upon hire, 100% of base rate after completion of 180 day probation period

Job Description Essential Functions of the Position
Greets and assists walk-ins with questions regarding public assistance eligibility; schedules and interviews applicants to determine their eligibility for public assistance, including Food Stamps, OWF (Ohio Works First), PRC (Prevention, Retention, and Contingency) and Medicaid, excluding Nursing Home, Waiver, and Group Home medical assistance; maintains an on-going caseload consisting of Food Stamps, OWF (Ohio Works First) and Medicaid, excluding Nursing Home, Waiver, and Group Home medical assistance; completes re-determination of eligibility for all public assistance programs; approves or denies re-determinations; answers incoming phone calls and places outgoing phone calls as a means of obtaining and providing information regarding clients' eligibility for benefits; performs data entry as needed to build case files.
Performs daily tasks regarding the maintenance of clients' eligibility for benefits (e.g., processes new income changes for clients and clients' address changes; prepares correspondence to clients regarding benefits, information needed, etc.; processes daily alerts that might affect a client's eligibility for benefits, i.e., re-determine clients' eligibility, reviews mail to determine if new information changes eligibility; conducts agency error overpayments.
Attends division meetings and required trainings as assigned; prepares preliminary paperwork for, and testifies at, State Hearings related to appeals to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on eligibility determination and re-determination decisions.
Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
Demonstrates regular, punctual and predictable attendance.

Skill in data entry; word processing; computer operation; adding machine or calculator operation; use of modern office equipment; motor vehicle operation.
Ability to deal with problems involving few variables within familiar context; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, or regulations to specific situations; read, copy, and record figures accurately; add, subtract, mul
