EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ.  The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis.  No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or waterOperate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instrumentsPerform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements, and the utilization of analytical balancesPerform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtainedUnderstand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical methodSupport all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposalClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory  equipment as neededOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or closely related science required Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisPhysical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25lbs and standing for various lengths of timeAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitudeEffective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable Shifts:Position is full time, Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.                              Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cinnaminson, NJ are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account. The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. To find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
