Kroger Family of Companies Summer 2026 Industrial Engineering Intern in Cincinnati, Ohio
The Kroger Summer Internship Program is a 12 week immersive experience that offers students an opportunity to grow their careers through a variety of focused internship assignments. Rotation dates: May 18 - August 7.

RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize industrial engineering (IE) technologies and methodologies to evaluate current processes, equipment and systems to determine areas of improvement that will enhance the customer shopping experience, product quality and freshness while eliminating inefficiencies. Provide leadership and collaborate with key stake holders and business partners to design, develop, test and deploy innovative, cost effective and efficient processes. Lead and participate in the identification, prioritization, implementation, and control of labor standards from existing program to new software
Identify innovative approaches for cost reduction and process improvement initiatives using lean processes
Identify innovative approaches to company-wide store issues that create opportunities for breakthrough process improvements that positively impact the customer shopping experience, safety, product freshness and food safety.
Provide statistical analysis reports evaluating the efficiency of current processes, procedures, equipment and associates
Establish work measurement programs and collect and analyze data; develop and maintain key performance in0dicators and metrics
Develop and implement direct labor standards for costing, staffing, and evaluating performance
Provide crucial maintenance support to the labor standards program
Work closely with engineering and labor teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze store operation data
Travel to retail locations and offices to observe active best practices matching labor engineered standards

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum
Industrial Engineering or closely related field,must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to work well within project teams
Desired
Have completed coursework in operations research, work analysis, human factors
Ability to effectively communicate and influence all levels of the organization
Effective planning, decisionmaking, problemsolving, and organizing skills
Able to utilize all work measurement tools available (i.e. MTM, MOST, Time Study, Analysis)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
