Trans Ash, Inc Regional ESH Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio
Founded in 1960 by Rudy Gerbus and his brother, Gerbus Bros Construction initially specialized in mass earth moving. In the 1970s, our expertise led us to partner with local power plants to address the environmental challenges of fly ash management. This collaboration gave birth to Trans Ash.

This position will be based out of the home office in Cincinnati, OH, but will include +/- 60% of overnight travel to our out-of-town construction sites. Pay Rate:
$130,000 - $145,000 per year

Job Summary:
The ESH Manager will administer the company's Health and Safety program at our jobsites in Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia and North Carolina.
Primary Duties:
- Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state, federal and customer environmental, health and safety regulations for multiple locations.
- Administer employee training programs at multiple locations.
- Assist in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures.
- Assists ESH Specialists at various locations.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. Keeps up to date on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Investigate reported accidents, incidents and near misses. Evaluate current best practices and then prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
- Develop relationships with our customers at the local and corporate level to promote and incorporate the company's safety program.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive company and regional/department goals and objectives.
- Provides clear direction and objectives to ESH Specialists.
- Ability to ensure safety coverage is available for all sites.
- Perform quarterly ESH audits.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education/ Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university or five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Safety Professional designation and/or OSHA 500/510 Certifications preferred.
Experience:
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Mass Excavation Construction business (Caterpillar type equipment) and trucking is a positive.
