Position Overview
Scarlet Oaks is seeking a hands-on Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor to lead the housekeeping and laundry team while also performing daily cleaning tasks. This role ensures resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces are maintained in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition in line with infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain resident rooms, offices, hallways, stairways, elevators, and public areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.
Sweep, vacuum, dust, disinfect, deodorize, and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and HVAC units.
Clean windows, mirrors, walls, and ceilings by washing, wiping, and spot cleaning as needed.
Supervise, schedule, and support housekeeping and laundry staff; provide direction, training, and performance feedback.
Ensure new and incoming resident rooms are cleaned, checked, and movein ready; coordinate with admissions as needed.
Empty trash and keep janitor closets and supply rooms clean, safe, and organized.
Assist with laundry operations, including linens, towels, and resident personal laundry; follow all soiled/clean laundry protocols.
Maintain proper inventory of chemicals, supplies, and linens; ensure all chemical closets are locked and compliant with safety policies.
Log required water and heat temperatures and follow all infection control and universal precautions.
Submit maintenance work orders and promptly report unsafe or hazardous conditions or needed repairs.
Perform exterior cleaning (windows, patios, outside areas) as assigned.
Complete other housekeeping and laundry duties as directed by the Administrator.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions necessary to perform all job duties.
Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience; supervisory or lead experience highly preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Genuine passion for working with the elderly and providing excellent customer service.
Strong communication skills with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and decisive under stressful conditions.
Physical ability to regularly lift, carry, push/pull, stand, walk, squat/kneel, see, and speak throughout the shift.
