Robert Half Director of Accounting in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to oversee and enhance financial operations, particularly within the realm of real estate investment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fund accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting to support a growing portfolio of properties.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting operations for a portfolio of real estate investments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.

• Collaborate with consultants and internal teams to optimize fund accounting processes and recommend system improvements.

• Manage consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany eliminations, to ensure clear and accurate results.

• Provide direction and mentorship to a team of senior accountants, supporting their growth and development.

• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Utilize Yardi and other accounting tools to streamline processes and improve financial oversight.

• Support the integration of fund-level accounting tasks into in-house operations, ensuring a seamless transition.

• Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization's financial integrity. Requirements

• Extensive experience in accounting leadership roles, particularly within real estate investment.

• Proficiency in fund accounting and financial reporting, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

• Strong knowledge of Yardi and other relevant accounting systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in consolidations and intercompany eliminations.

• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Experience coordinating audits and working with external tax professionals.

• Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams effectively.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
