Maintenance (Cimarron, KS) multiple openings

a. General maintenance, housekeeping, and repairs of all feed yard property. General maintenance consists primarily of mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on tractors and feed yard trucks, including motor repairs, vehicle diagnostics, oil changes, greasing, and routine servicing like servicing engines and transmissions every 250 operating hours, disassembling transmissions when needed, checking hydraulic systems, and identifying and repairing damaged electrical components. Housekeeping tasks include organizing equipment and tools, maintaining an Excel sheet of inventory and preventive maintenance log on all equipment and yard vehicles, and making basic repairs on gates. General tools and equipment used in these tasks include hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, hammers), power tools (impact wrenches, drills, grinders), diagnostic equipment for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and welding and cutting equipment for repairs on gates and metal structures.

b. Operational support/assistance of all departments - supports both the Cattle Department and Feed/Mill Department. In the Cattle Department, tasks include removing dead animals, smoothing pens, and repairing gates. In the Feed/Mill department, tasks include repairing equipment, smoothing alleyways, fixing broken gates, and collaborating with the mill crew by bringing tools as needed. Tools and equipment used include hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, and materials such as metal parts and fasteners.

c. Meet daily with Maintenance Foreman to determine tasks to be completed.

d. Perform Feed Yard repairs such as Fence Building and Water Tank Maintenance. Fence building involves welding, using grinders and saws, digging holes with shovels and post hole diggers, installing wooden posts and rails, and securing them with rebar and drills. Water tank maintenance includes cleaning tanks, repairing hoses, valves, floats, and electric heaters, and occasionally replacing tanks. Tools and materials used include hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, wooden posts, rails, rebar, hoses, valves, and floats.

e. Operates equipment such as front-end loaders, bobcat loaders, and dump trucks. Front end loaders such as Komatsu, Caterpillar, and John Deere are used to load feed, clean pens and slabs, move dirt, unload bales, and pull leads. Tractors such as the Case 310, John Deere 9200 4WD, John Deere 7820, and New Holland T250 are used to fill holes, scrape pens, rip pens, unload corn with PTO, fill back alleys, and level pens. Bobcats S595 and S185 are used to push fence lines, clear back alleys, load hay bales, dig holes or trench lines, and unload cargo with pallet forks. 2

f. Drive feed truck as needed or required. This role involves driving an HX International feed truck model #HX6206x4, with a gross weight of 64,740 lbs., used strictly for delivering feed from on-site feed storage to cattle bunks within the feed yard.

g. Follow appropriate operation requirements for feed trucks and equipment. All vehicles are operated strictly within the feed yard, cattle pens, alleyways, and on-site feed mill areas.

h. Assist in the delivery of small-baled hay to new cattle. This requires driving these vehicles around the yard, pens, and alleyways between stations. Hay bales are delivered to stations using a Kirby International hay truck and manually distributed into cattle pens as needed.

i. Scoop feed from bunks with shovel as needed.

j. Maintain road surfaces and alleys by filling holes using bobcats, skid steers, tractors with end dump loaders, and shovels. Mud and earth are used as temporary fill where concrete exists until permanent concrete can later be applied. No asphalt is used.
