The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GPS, optical total stations, lasers and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.

You will manage multiple complex projects/programs of work that develop innovative solutions to real-world customer problems. The project manager focuses on the “when” ensuring product teams are delivering the required scope promptly and efficiently, incorporating risk management practices. Projects are vehicles of incremental product delivery and are executed using the CTCT Development Process.

What you will do:

This role is accountable for the efficient delivery of Grade Control Products by leading product teams through the execution of the CTCT development process.

  • Has specialized knowledge and breadth of expertise in Project Management and experience of related functional teams.

  • Uses expert judgment, leading others in the project management team and product teams to solve complex problems.

  • Works with member and CTCT stakeholders understanding business requests ensuring these are refined; key product value criteria and tight sizing aspects are understood.

  • Uses expert judgement and the product roadmap to drive priority, maximise delivery capacity and shape master schedules across multiple owning and enabling product teams

  • Leads large/complex projects/programs in parallel independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations to deliver innovative solutions

  • Delivers projects/programmes over consecutive releases, executing in line with CTCT vision, strategy and master schedules

  • Identify bottlenecks, process improvements that drive a positive change in the “when” T5 outcomes. Leads others to grow and adopt these

  • Challenges and Drives for best practice communication amongst all product teams

  • Challenges, strategic requirements, and recommends best practices autonomously to improve products, processes or services. Operates at the leadership levels inside CTCT and both members

  • Communicates difficult concepts, strategic tradeoffs, master schedule updates and uses negotiation and soft skills to drive for clarity and agreed outcomes amongst CTCT senior management, Machine and Product Teams and members.

  • May lead other individuals or teams in the Project Management space

High Level Goals

  • Have a deep understanding of the Products owned by their product team/s

  • Ensure development processes reflect outcome-based lifecycle execution and push for continual process improvements.

  • Manage business requests and shape the right strategic outcomes for CTCT and our members. Execute projects that deliver product increments in alignment with the master schedules, per our CTCT development process, meeting Operational Performance Targets (Product Quality Velocity Cost).

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years experience in cross-functional project teams and software development organizations.

  • Proven hands-on technical project management experience across multiple complex projects/programmes of work with a high level expertise in proactively identifying & resolving issues early while maintaining relationships

  • Leadership qualities with high energy that demonstrate the ability to work well with diverse groups of people in a way that motivates them to achieve common objectives

  • Experience in Agile software development, backlog planning, and value team facilitation is highly desired

  • A recognised certification in Project Management is highly desirable.
