About the role:

Stantec’s Buildings team in New Zealand delivers end-to-end projects for our clients, from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning, and operation. Specialising in mission-critical facilities such as data centres and healthcare, our team of 100 brings expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, fire, electrical, structural, and sustainability engineering to local projects. We’re proud to put user needs at the centre of every design.

The Stantec Building Business is looking for Project Controls support. The Buildings team work on both very large and small quick turnaround projects so there is huge variety. Stantec has offices throughout New Zealand with key groups in Auckland and Christchurch. If you are looking for a new challenge, have great attention to detail and enjoy some financial forensics to find answers to problems, this role is for you. We want someone who is a self-starter, isn’t afraid to use their initiative and likes being busy.

Key aspects of the role will include;

  • Implement established project control processes and procedures for project execution, including, but not limited to, project creation, management of scope, budgets, timeframes, profitability, and risk.

  • Support Campaign and Proposal staff with proposal material

  • Support development of Project Execution Plan and Health and Safety Plans

  • Prepare and establish baseline schedule (or programmes) in conjunction with members of the project team.

  • Assist in monitoring scope/scope creep, cost and schedule alignment throughout the Project Phase

  • Assist Project Managers and project teams with monthly schedule / programme updates, financial forecasting, invoicing and progress reports, to both internal and external clients.

  • Be accountable for own quality of workmanship by providing accurate reports, document control and monitoring within the timelines set out for the project.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

Previous Controls background, having experience with Earned Value and / or working in a cost-based environment will be very beneficial. We use many digital tools, and our financial system is Oracle. A person with at least 3-4 years’ experience, strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite but also a quick learner, excellent organisational and attention to detail, with clear, open communication skills.
