Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

This role focuses on installing and securing solar panels and related electrical components on various structures while ensuring all work complies with NEC and local electrical codes. You will support solar construction projects from site assessment through final inspection, working closely with installation crews and project stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality solar systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install and secure solar panels on rooftops, ground mounts, and other structures using appropriate hand and power tools.

  • Mount racking systems, inverters, and related hardware in accordance with design specifications and project plans.

  • Ensure all work complies with NEC and local electrical code requirements, even when electrical work is minimal.

  • Perform basic electrical tasks such as connecting equipment, verifying grounding, and inspecting conduit runs.

  • Conduct site assessments to confirm accurate measurements, layout, and placement of solar equipment.

  • Follow all OSHA safety standards and maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.

  • Collaborate with installation crews, project managers, and inspectors to support timely and successful project completion.

  • Document work performed, including installation details and any field changes, and assist with quality checks or inspections.

  • Use construction knowledge to support efficient installation and troubleshoot basic issues in the field.

  • Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate work, resolve issues, and uphold project quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Active Oklahoma Electrical Journeyman License.

  • Proficiency in electrical work, including conduit installation, wiring, and basic equipment connections.

  • Working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes as they apply to solar installations.

  • Ability to read and follow design specifications, layouts, and installation instructions.

  • Experience using construction hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Strong understanding of grounding, conduit runs, and electrical safety practices.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working outdoors and at heights as needed.

  • Commitment to following OSHA safety standards and maintaining a safe job site.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with installation crews and project stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in solar or construction environments is beneficial.

  • Experience mounting racking systems, inverters, and related solar hardware.

  • Ability to conduct accurate site measurements and layout for solar equipment placement.

  • Strong attention to detail for documentation, quality checks, and inspections.

  • Capability to travel to project sites within the state as required.

Work Environment

This position is based primarily at outdoor solar farm sites. You work six days per week, typically five 10-hour days and one 8-hour day, with substantial time spent on your feet and performing hands-on installation tasks. The role involves working in varying weather conditions and on different surfaces and structures as required for solar installations. You use standard construction and electrical tools and equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards throughout each project.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chouteau, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $99.43 - $99.43/hr.
