PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Services

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services team. This position provides nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures while supporting a safe and efficient operating room environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Provides direct nursing care to patients in the surgical services department.
Assists with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care as assigned.
Monitors patient condition and communicates changes to the surgical team.
Ensures adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards.
Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare team members to support surgical procedures.
Maintains accurate patient documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Promotes patient safety and quality care in all aspects of surgical services.
Qualifications
Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
BLS certification required.
ACLS and PALS preferred.
Previous surgical services or operating room experience preferred.
Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Schedule
PRN (as needed) position
Must be willing to work variable shifts, including days and occasional call coverage if needed.
Flexibility to assist with surgical schedules based on department needs.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. floor to waist, lift 50 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs.
